Dubai : India defeated South Africa by 28 runs at ICC Academy Ground, Dubai , and thereby clinched both their Warm Up Matches of ICC Women’s T20 WC 2024.
Batting 1st, Indian top order struggled yet again, with Smriti Mandhana (21) Harmanpreet Kaur (10), Shafali Verma (0) departing cheaply.
Handy knocks of Richa Ghosh (36), Deepti Sharma (35*), Jeminah Rodrigues (30) took India to a respectable total of 144-7 (20).
South African iconic pacer Ayabonga Khaka picked up 5-fer and posted great threat to Indian Batting line up.
Indian bowlers went all out economical against South Africa and took wickets at regular intervals after the powerplay.
With India using 9 bowlers, and most of them proving to be economical , South Africa could only manage to score 116-6 after their 20 overs innings and got defeated by 28 runs.
