PNG however were on the verge of creating an upset to West Indies , however, Roston Chase’s quick fire 42* saved the hosts.
Chasing 137 runs, WI lost Johnson (0) departed early. Nicholas Pooran (27), Brandon King (34) formed a 53 runs partnership.
However, PNG gave regular breakthroughs soon & at 1 stage WI were on backfoot on 97-5 after 16 overs.
Roston Chase eventually played a good knock of 42* (27) accompanied by Andre Russell (15*) to take WI off the mark with their 1st win after a great fight from PNG.
In 1st innings, WI bowlers kept PNG to backfoot. They not only stopped the run flow but also took regular wickets.
Sese Bau (50) & Kiplin Doriga’s cameo (27*) helped PNG post a respectable total of 136-8 after 20 overs.
