Barbados : India defeated South Africa by 7 runs at Kensington Oval, Barbados , in Final of ICC T20 WC 2024 to clinch their 2nd T20 Wc.
Defending 177 runs, India took the wickets of Reeza Hendricks (4), Aiden Markram (4) early.
However, Quinton De Kock (39), Tristan Stubbs (31), Heinrich Klaasen (52) brought South Africa back into the game.
Klaasen smashed 24 runs in an over of Axar Patel, & it seemed South Africa were about to clinch their maiden title.
However, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh brought India back in the game conceding just 6 runs in 18 & 19th over.
Hardik Pandya defended 16 runs off last over ,conceding 8 runs, to give India the glory.
In 1st Innings, India Batting 1st, saw Virat Kohli (76) coming back in form.
Despite middle order fumble, Axar Patel (47), Shivam Dube (27) brought India to 176-7 (20).
Virat Kohli was adjourned the Man of The Match, Jasprit Bumrah was awarded Man of The Series.
