Opting to Bat first, Ibrahim stood against all odds, when Afghans struggled on 37-3, he notched vital partnerships with skipper Shahidi (40), Md Nabi (40), Omarzai (41).
His knock of 177 (146) included 6 sixes and 12 boundaries that guided Afghanistan to 325-7 (50).
Chasing 326 runs, England lost 2 quick wickets for 30 runs. Joe Root (120) & Ben Duckett (38) notched vital 68 runs partnership. Root, the lone warrior also smashed another vital 83 runs partnership with skipper Jos Buttler (38).
Root scored 120 (111) including 1 six and 11 boundaries, fighting till end. He almost won it for England along with Jamie Overton (32), making 54 runs partnership, but both got out to Omarzai when England required 16 runs in 2 overs.
Afghanistan eventually picked rest 2 wickets of Jofra Archer and Adil Rashid and won the match by 8 runs in a hard fought encounter.
Omarzai picked 5-fer and rattled English Batting order.
Ibrahim was adjourned man of the match for his heroics.
