I-League 2021-22: Gokulam Kerala rout Real Kashmir FC; Marcus Joseph shines yet again in Mohammedan SC win

Kolkata: The reigning I-League champions, Gokulam Kerala FC stunned 10-men Real Kashmir FC in a 5-1 encounter at the Kalyani Stadium in the ongoing tournament. While earlier at  Naihati Stadium, Kolkata Giants Mohammedan SC went past  Sreenidi Deccan to register a hat-trick of wins. Trinidad and Tobago striker, Marcus Joseph shined yet again in the encounter.

Two goals and an assist from Luka Majcen along with a brace from striker Fletcher and a goal from forward Jithin gave Gokulam Kerala a four goal cushion against Real Kashmir FC. Tiago Adan scored sole goal for the snow leopards from an awarded penalty which was rather just a mere consolation. Gokulam Kerela got an early heads up when Real Kashmir FC defender Prakash Sarkar was given marching orders as early as the third minute following a hard foul.

Elsewhere at Naihati Stadium, Marcus Joseph outclassed yet again with a brace. While Andelo Rudovic scored a spot-kick to double the lead. David Castaneda scored the only goal for Sreenidi Deccan as Mohammedan SC won 3-1 to hold the top spot. While the debutantes stay at 7th with only one win from the three games played.

 

Later at Naihati Stadium itself, Neroca FC edge past Tiddim Road Athletic Union FC (TRAU FC) in a 2-0 affair of Imphal Derby. Mohammad Kdouh and former East Bengal star Juan Mera found themselves in the score sheet to hand Neroca the second win in three games.
