Kolkata: The last two match days of the Championship phase of the I-League 2021-22 has taken a turn for dramatic zenith as the top two teams, Gokulam Kerala and Mohammedan SC are moving neck to neck with eachother.
Gokulam Kerala are currently at the top of table with 40 points from 16 games, while Mohammedan are at 34 points from the same number of games played.
Gokulam numerically need only one point out of their two encounters to seal the deal. While Mohammedan SC need to win both their games, to be at par with the team from South if the Gokulam loses to Sreenidi Deccan that is to be played on May 10th.
However, if Mohammedan SC drop any point against debutantes Rajasthan United FC that is scheduled to be played right before Gokulam’s game, Gokulam can numerically be crowned the Champions with a game in hand.
Despite the results the last game, between these heavy weights will be a treat to watch as two of the most competent squads take on each other.
