Wolfsburg: Germany put nine goals past Liechtenstein, even already having been qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. On the other hand, Sweden was put in a very vulnerable position following a 2-0 loss at the hands of already-eliminated Georgia.

Both Thomas Muller and Leroy Sane scored a brace each, as Germany ran riots past Liechtenstein registering 42 shots with 23 on target. The others goals came from an awarded spot-kick scored by Ikay Gundogan and one from Ridle Baku. Two own goals from Daniel Kauffmann and Maximilian Goppel added to the woes of Liechtenstein.

On the other hand banking on Pablo Sarabia’s penalty, Spain ousts Greece from the tournament while their upcoming opponents Sweden find them in a very tight spot after losing to Georgia. The qualification comes down to the upcoming encounter between two where the winner takes it all.

The unimpressive goalless draw in Dublin against Ireland was enough for Cristiano Ronaldo and co as Portugal now sits at the top of the group above Serbia banking on goal differences and will need only a point from their upcoming encounter against Serbia to qualify.

In other matches of the day, Russia put six goals past Cyprus while 2018 FIFA World Cup runners-up Croatia beat Malta 7-1 with Marcelo Brozovic scored a howler to give Malta its lone goal.
