Kochi : The ban imposed on Kerala Blasters by FIFA and forwarded by All India Football Federation has been lifted, the Kochi based side now can sign players and keep on with their preparation of the upcoming season of ISL. The first signing made on this occasion was the appointment of a new head coach. KBFC signed Ivan Vukomanovic for their upcoming season.

The ban which was issued by FIFA after Matej Poplatnik complained of non payment of his due salary. As per rules, any unpaid player can approach the global football governing body and actions is immediately taken. In this case a ban is imposed on transfer or signing of players.

Not only Kerala Blasters, SC East Bengal also faced the same consequence. Although days ago Kerala Blasters issued a club statement stating necessary action was taken to clear the “pending obligations” and as soon as dues were cleared the ban was lifted immediately.

On the other hand, the ongoing feud between Shree Cement and East Bengal has made matters more complicated for the Kolkata side, as their ban is still in effect and is affecting the club’s preparation of the season.
