London: Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal secured a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Friday, October 22, in the ninth matchday of Premier League at Emirates.

Thomas Partey opened the scoring for the North London side after Emile Smith Rowe set him up with a sublime kick, that hit the woodwork in the 23rd minute. They could have been up by 2-0 sooner when Bukayo Saka was denied by Emiliano Martinez.

However, it was Aubameyang giving the side a deserving lead, after scoring the rebound of his spot-kick, that was awarded for a foul by Matt Targett on Alenxendre Lacazette which was denied by Martinez at the first.

However, Aston Villa did pull one back for themselves with 10 minutes of regulation time remaining courtesy, Jacob Ramsey. Ramsey slotted in a beautiful 18-yard goal, but Arteta’s men stayed back with all three points.
