CWG 2022 Day 7 Highlights : Murali Sreeshankar wins Silver in long Jump, Gold for Sudhir in Para-Powerlifting

Birmingham : India bag only two medals on day 7 of Commonwealth Games in Birmingham. India remains on 7th position in the medal tally, with 6 golds, 7 silvers and 7 bronze with a total of 20 medals.

Day 7 is a historic day for the Indian athletes at the commonwealth games as Murali Sreeshankar bags first ever medal in long jump. The national record holder wins silver medal in Men’s Long Jump with the highest leap of 8.08m.

While, good news is still yet to come and the later part of the day, Indian Para Powerlifter Sudhir thumps a Gold for his country. This is Sixth gold medal for Indian in ongoing commonwealth game at Birmingham. Asian Para Games bronze medalist wins country’s first ever gold in para powerlifting and make the whole country proud. While Indian Sagar Ahlawat, Amit Panghal, Rohit Tokas and Jasmine Lamboriya and assure medals for India.

Day 8 at the commonwealth will be very eventful for the Indian contingent. As Shuttlers, Athletes and Weightlifters will advance and may assure for India. While Indian Womens hockey team will face Australia in the Womens semifinal to assure in Birmingham.
