Cesena: Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace on return as Juventus thrashed Spezia 4-1 Stadio Dinu Manuzzi in Serie A on Sunday (November 1). Juventus were heading for a 1-1 stalemate but Ronaldo returning from COVID-19 turned the match in his head.

The last two league matches Juventus were held by Crotone and Hellas Verona and also lost to Barcelona at home in the Champions League. The absence of Ronaldo was a big factor in the determination of the final results.

Alvaro Morata opened the scoring for Juventus on 14 minutes before Tommaso Pobega levelled on 32 minutes. However, Morata’s second goal was ruled out. With the scoresheet equal, Andrea Pirlo turned to his talisman who scored just after 126 seconds of being on the field on 59 minutes. He completed his brace from the spot when he converted a penalty on 76 minutes.

The other scorer for Juventus was Adrien Rabiot when he scored on 67 minutes. Pirlo’s introduction of the Portuguese talisman made all the difference as Juventus acquired a much-needed win.
