Kolkata : Karan Lal’s all-round show helped Servotech Siliguri Strikers register dominant 90 runs win against Murshidabad Kings at Eden Gardens in Bengal T20 League 2026.
Siliguri after being put to Bat first, notched 101 runs opening partnership in 10 overs , with help of captain Sudip Chatterjee (50) and Karan Lal (53). Karan’s knock stole the show, as he smashed 53 (29) with 4 sixes and 3 boundaries at whopping 182.76 strike rate.
However, after Karan’s departure in 11th over, Siliguri faced collapse, not only losing wickets at regular intervals but also dent in run flow. From 101-0 in 10 overs, they’re reduced to 152/9 in 20 , marking a great comeback for Murshidabad. Toufik Uddin Mondal played a key role in this as he delivered a spell of 3/15.
The joy of Murshidabad was short lived. Karan Lal now delivered with the Ball and bagged 4 wickets in 3 overs conceding just 12 , and celebrated in his own unique way. Veteran Ishan Porel grabbed 3 wickets as the Siliguri pace duo played key role in demolishing Murshidabad to just 62. Ishan Kishan was awarded Player of the match.
After the match, Ishan Porel said, “In the previous match, my first ball was a no-ball, and that stayed in my mind. Today, I was confident about my run-up because I had worked on it extensively in practice and managed to get my rhythm back. That really helped.The confidence also came from Shami bhai. He gave us a great start in the first over, and it was important for me to continue that momentum. Having played many matches at Eden Gardens, I know that if I hit the right areas, it can be difficult for any batter.
My favourite wicket was definitely the clean-bowled dismissal. Every bowler dreams of seeing the stumps rattled. It’s always special. I’ve played with Mohammad Shami for many years in domestic cricket, and we’ve also shared dressing rooms in franchise cricket and the IPL. There’s a strong understanding between us. I know how he operates, and he constantly shares valuable insights about the pitch and conditions. When both of us are bowling well together, it creates a tough challenge for any opposition. That was certainly the case today.”
