Cricket Association of Bengal announces 40-member senior probables for 2020-21 season

Kolkata: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has announced a 40-member senior probables for the 2020-21 domestic season on Tuesday (September 8). However, with COVID-19 cases rising every day in the country, it is still unclear when the upcoming season will start.

The BCCI is yet to make a decision on the 2020-21 domestic season with speculations that the entire season could be cancelled or could possibly stage a curtailed season with only Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Due to the pandemic, the BCCI has shifted the IPL 2020 to UAE.     

Bengal had a brilliant last season reaching the Ranji Trophy finals for the first time since 2006, surrendering the title to Saurashtra. However, the two of the big names — Jayojit Basua and Ashok Dinda — are missing from the list this time. While it is surprising to Basu excluded, Dinda will possibly play for Goa in the next season. No official confirmation has come yet from Dinda.      

Among the 40, the likes of Mohammad Shami, Wriddhiman Saha, Sreevats Goswami, Ishan Porel, Shahbaz Ahmed are Sayan Ghosh currently in UAE for the IPL. The news faces in the side are Dhanish Mirza Alam, Subham Chatterjee and Sumit Mohanta.

Shami, Akash Deep, Wriddhiman Saha, Nilkanth Das, Sudip Chatterjee, Geet Puri, Anustup Majumder, Golam Mustafa, Shreevats Goswami, Sayan Ghosh, Abhishek Raman, Ravi Kant Singh, Ishan Porel, Raj Kumar Paul, Koushik Ghosh, Shreyan Chakraborty, Kazi Junaid Saifi, Dhanish Mirza Alam, Ritwik Roy Chowdhury, Karan Lal, Agniv Pan, Abhishek Das, Subham Chatterjee, Sandipan Das, Vivek Singh, Md. Kaif, Shahbaz Ahmed, Dipanjan Mukherjee, Arnab Nandy, Subham Sarkar, Pradipta Pramanik, Sumanta Gupta, Ayan Bhattacharya, Aritra Chatterjee, Mithilesh Das and Sumit Mohanta.
