Kolkata : Argentine legend Lionel Messi has hinted his retirement plans, revealed he’s enjoying every moment in Football as he’s getting closer to hang his boots. Argentina clinched a 6-0 win against Bolivia with Messi scoring a record hattrick. In Post match speech, he dropped down the shocking statements. However, he didn’t announce any particular date or time.
Messi said, “It’s really nice to come here, to feel the affection of the people. It moves me how they shout my name. I haven’t set any date or deadline regarding my future, I just want to enjoy all of this. It moves me more than ever to be here and feel the love of the people because I know these could be my last matches. This drives me. Enjoying being happy where I am. Despite my age, when I’m here, I feel like a kid because I’m comfortable with this team. As long as I feel good and can keep performing the way I want, we’ll keep enjoying it”.
Messi revealed that Inter Miami will be his last club and said he’ll miss both Inter Miami and Argentina post his retirement.
He said, “Inter Miami will be my last club. I love playing football. I enjoy everything much more because I am aware that there is less [left to play]. I’m still having fun. At the club [Inter Miami] I am lucky to have teammates and friends by my side. Also in the national team. I enjoy the little details knowing that, when I don’t play anymore, I’m going to miss it”.
Lionel Messi revealed earlier that he won’t feature in FIFA WC 2026 but will play the qualifier matches. The Argentine icon played important role in leading his nation to FIFA WC 2022 win and end his World Cup career on a high note.
