Christian Eriksen scores in Denmark defeat; Spain emerge victorious

Amsterdam :Christian Eriksen scored a goal on his return to Denmark national team against Netherlands, nine months after suffering a cardiac arrest during the Euro 2020. Although Netherlands won the match 4-2 at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Eriksen’s return after what was considered a career ending medical condition with a goal, stole the limelight and deservingly so. Eriksen scored with his first touch after he was subbed on.  Steven Bergwijn scored a barce for Netherlands, Nathan Ake and Memphis Depay scored one each clinching the victory.

Dani Olmo on the other hand scored a 90th minute winner for Spain against Albania. Spain secured a 2-1 win, while playing a match in Catalonia at Cornella-El Prat stadium after 18 years. Ferran Torres opened the scoring for La Roja’s on 75 minutes.

However a few minutes later Myrto Uzuni scored the equalizer but Olmo rose to the occassion slotting home a short pass from Jordi Alba on the 90th minute mark. Both the Chelsea forwards Kai Havertz and Timo Werner featured in the scoresheet as Germany defeated Israel by 2-0.

Harry Kane scored a late penalty to ensure a comeback victory for England against Switzerland. The Swiss took the lead via through Breel Embolo’s goal but Luke Shaw scored the equaliser. Kane scored the winning goal from the spot on 78 minutes for the English.
