Kolkata: Cypriot footballer Charalambos Kyriakou of Emami East Bengal have arrived in Kolkata. Stephen Constantine has already started training with the team’s Indian footballers. The Kolkata giants will play an exhibition match on 16th of this month, it is not yet clear whether the respective footballers will play in that match.
Speaking to the reporters at the airport, Kyriakou said, ‘Thanks for welcoming me, My only goal is to give 100 percent on the field.I am looking forward to play in a club as traditional as East Bengal.”
Kyriakou went to practice in the afternoon. In just a few days, East Bengal will play a warm-up match in Naihati. Then Emami East Bengal will fight for the Durand Cup. Without wasting time, Kyriakou, the star footballer of Cyprus, came to the city in the morning and went down to prepare with his teammates in the afternoon. First he wobbled and then it took a long time to move the ball.
