Naihati : Mohammedan Sporting Club began their CFL 2026 Super Six campaign on a winning note, defeating Bhawanipore FC 2-0 at the Naihati Stadium today.
It is to be noted that Bhawanipore FC ended Group A at number 2 being undefeated with 8 wins and 3 draws, while Mohammedan also secured 2nd place in Group B with 6 wins , 3 draws and 2 losses.
Playing their first match of the squad produced a composed performance to secure all three points and make a strong start to the crucial phase of the league.
Mohammedan Sporting Club took control of the game with determined attacking play and eventually found the breakthrough in the first half itself through Fardin, who put the team ahead.
The side continued to maintain pressure and remained organised at both ends of the pitch.
In the second half, Israfil then doubled the team’s advantage, giving the team a comfortable 2-0 lead and putting them firmly in control of the game.
The team defended their advantage with discipline until the final whistle to register a convincing 2-0 victory and collect their first three points of the CFL 2026 Super Six.
