Bali: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has settled for a silver after losing to An Seyoung 16-21 12-21 in the summit clash of the BWF World Tour Finals in Bali. An Seyoung shattered Sindhu’s hope of regaining the title with a commanding 21-16, 21-12 victory in the summit clash within 39 minutes.

Although, considering upon Sindhu’s effort against Akane Yamaguchi of Japan in the semifinal on Saturday, it appeared like the Indian would put up a fight against the Korean. But the reigning world champion Sindhu had no answer for Seyoung, the world No. 6 in form, who controlled terms from the start.

Seyoung achieved a hat-trick of victories in Bali with this victory. She had won back-to-back victories at the Indonesian Masters and Indonesian Open in the previous fortnight, putting her in a strong position for the season finale.

Seyoung also defeated Sindhu in the quarterfinals of the Denmark Open back in October. This was Sindhu’s third final appearance. She became the first Indian to win the title in 2018.
