Bhubaneswar: During the ongoing FIH Odisha Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup, someone have tested positive for Covid-19. According to reports, an RT-PCR test revealed that an individual who was a member of the Department of Sports and Youth Services (DSYS), Odisha’s social media team and also accessed the stadium’s media centre on Thursday tested positive.

Following that, the organisers made an RT-PCR test essential for journalists covering the event on Friday.

Contact tracing and a required RT-PCR test have been started since the sick individual visited the media centre on a regular basis.

Despite the fact that the Junior World Cup is being hosted in a bubble with no spectators, media members have been allowed to attend under rigorous COVID-19 safety standards.

The 12th edition of the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup began on November 24, 2021, and will conclude on December 5, 2021.
