BSL 2025-26: Tarak Hembram’s brace helps North 24 Parganas FC crush FC Medinipur

Naihati : North 24 Parganas FC has climbed to the top of the points table after defeating FC Midnapore. After defeating Kopa Tigers Birbhum 4-0 in the first match, they lost 3-1 to Howrah-Hooghly Warriors. However, North 24 Parganas returned to winning ways in the Bengal Super League by defeating FC Midnapore on Sunday.

They started strongly at the Naihati Stadium. Tarak Hembram gave North 24 Parganas the lead in the 12th minute. However, Midnapore did not give up. They also got the result of the counterattack in the 44th minute through Ashish’s goal. The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

The match got intense in the second half. Both sides focused on pressing football in an attempt to move forward. But what if North 24 Parganas has a star like Tarak? He made the difference. North 24 Parganas took the lead with his goal in the 75th minute. That was the winning goal. He also received the Man of the Match award.

Despite advancing in their first match of the Bengal Super League, FC Midnapore lost 1-3 to Barretto’s Howrah-Hooghly Warriors. Sudeep Kumar Das scored the only goal for them. They drew 1-1 against Burdwan Blasters last Thursday. Despite playing well on Sunday, victory was elusive for them. After this defeat, they remained sixth in the points table.

It is worth noting that Barreto’s team Howrah-Hooghly Warriors is second in the table with 6 points after playing one match less than North 24 Parganas. JHR Royal City FC is third. Sundarbans Bengal Auto FC is fourth with 6 points from 2 matches.
