Dubai: The shocking memories og Nirbhaya gangrape in 2013 once again came to the fore, when a 19-year-old Dalit girl from Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras village put into the same well by four hindu caste men on September 14. After battlling for her life for more than a week, she breathed her last on Tuesday morning.

The incident has produced shockwaves among many in the country and India skipper Virat Kohli is one of the many. Condemning the incident and demanding justice, Kohli shared a heartfelt post on his social media handle. “What happened in #Hathras is inhumane and goes beyond cruelty. Hope the culprits of this heinous crime will be brought to justice. #JusticeForManishaValmiki” Kohli tweeted.

Earlier, many others such Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Malaika Arora, Farhan Akhtar, Riteish Deshmukh, Saina Nehwal came forward for demanding justice for the little girl.

The gangrape and the victim’s death has sparked outrage and protests. All the four accused who allegedly committed the crime have been arrested by UP police. “The young woman was left paralysed by the attack and her tongue was also cut when the accused attempted to strangle her,” Hathras police superintendent Vikrant Vir has stated.
