
Hobart : India defeated Australia by 5 wickets at Bellerive, Oval, Hobart in 3rd T20I, recording highest successful T20I chase at the venue and levelling the series 1-1.
Bowling first, Indian left arm pacer Arshdeep Singh removed Travis Head (6) & Josh Inglis (1) quickly. Varun Chakaravarthy also turned the game picking 2 crucial wickets at middle.
However, Tim David (74) & Marcus Stoinis (64) wrecked havoc on Indian bowlers and took Australia to 186-6 (20). Arshdeep finished with spell of 3/35.
Chasing 187 runs, Indian opener Abhishek Sharma (25) & Shubman Gill (15) played good cameos but departed within powerplay on 61.
Soon within next few overs, Indian skipper Surya Kumar Yadav (24), Axar Patel (17) & Tilak Varma (29) departed on 145 runs in 14.2 overs, playing short but crucial cameos.
However, it was Washington Sundar (49*) and Jitesh Sharma (22*) who put up match winning aggressive 43 runs partnership to chase down the total in 18.3 overs.
Arshdeep was awarded Man of The Match. The series now stands level on 1-1 , with both teams to meet each other on 6th November at Gold Coast for 4th T20I.
