Kolkata: Indian Super League(ISL) side ATK Mohun Bagan have completed the signing of goalkeeper Amrinder Singh ahead of the upcoming 2020/21 season. The Mariners made the move with 28-year-old opting for a release from  ISL champion Mumbai City FC. As per reports Amrinder penned a five year deal with ATK who announced the signing on Monday (May 31). He is currently with the Indian national team in Doha for the upcoming international fixtures.

“Even though I played in Kolkata before, it was for a very short time.  This is going to be a new chapter in my football career”,  Amrinder added on the move who briefly played for the club back in the 2015 season.

“Winning all the trophies for Mumbai last year was a memorable event in my life.  I want the same success in the green and maroon jersey next season. There are three reasons behind coming to Kolkata. They are: the support of a huge number of ATK Mohun Bagan supporters, the football philosophy of coach Habas and the principal owner of the team Sanjiv Goenka and the glorious history of football of this city,” he further added.

Amrinder joined Mumbai back in 2016 and after spending a loan spell with Bengaluru FC in the I-league, he returned to the islanders squad appearing 84 times, a club record.
