Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli manage to raise Rs 3.6 crore in less than 24 hours

Mumbai: Indian skipper Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma took to their Instagram handle to thank everyone for helping their cause for Covid-19 relief and urged them to continue to back the fundraiser.

The power couple took to their social media handle and revealed that the campaign had received 3.6 crore donation in less than 24 hours. “3.6 crores in less than 24 hours! Overwhelmed with the response. Lets keep fighting to meet our target and help the country. Thank you.” Virat wrote.

On the other hand the actress also thanked fans for their generous contribution. “Grateful to everyone who has donated so far. Thank you for your contribution. We have crossed the half way mark, let’s keep going.” Anushka wrote.

Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma have started a fundraising campaign to aid the second wave of the deadly Coronavirus relief. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have donated INR 2 crore to this fundraiser and have set a target of raising a total of INR 7 crore.

Earlier on Friday, the star duo shared a video on social media announcing that they have started a fundraiser for Covid-19 relief. After donating INR 2 crore themselves, they urged everyone to do the same and help fight the novel coronavirus. The fundraiser crossed the halfway mark of its target of 7 crore in a day.

“Since the Covid-19 outbreak, our country is going through trying times, our health systems are being challenged, we need to come together and help our India. Anushka and I have started a campaign on Ketto, to raise funds for Covid-19 relief, and we would be grateful for your support. No amount is too small to save lives. We will do everything we can to make a difference, but we need your help to fight this. I urge you all to join our movement. Let’s do our part to keep our country safe and strong. Thank you.
