Goa: Atlast Christmas came for Kerala Blasters FC as they registered their first victory in this year’s Indian Super League beating Hyderabad FC 2-0 at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa. Abdul Hakku and Jordon Murry scored for the winners.

Blasters coach Kibu Vicuna made five changes from the last match, quite a bold decision by starting with only two foreign players, but it just paid off for them and at last have presented their fans with a perfect Christmas present.

The match was important for both sides as Hyderabad wanted to come back from the loss they faced in their last match and Kerala wanted to kick start their season. From the first minute, Kerala looked the more threatening side in the attack as they created more chances and came close to the goal many times.

Hakku opened the scoring for the Blasters in the 29th minute, after he headed past Subrata Paul from a corner. In the second half, Hyderabad started to attack more with the likes of Aridane Santana and Halicharan Narzary missing quite a few chances.

Kerala on the other hand went on their attacking but were failing to score. Their Australian forward, Murry came up strong as he scored in the 88th minute and sealed the deal for the Blasters.

Vicuna was under huge pressure after their worst possible start in the ISL but the joy came at last for them and the man from Spain can think that the table has started to turn. A happy moment for him and his side.
