Madrid : FC Barcelona drop to the 10th place in La Liga after they lost 1-0 to Atletico Madrid in Wanda Metropolitano. The inconsistency for the Catalans in La Liga continues. A sloppy mistake from Marc Andre ter Stegen during the closing minutes of first half became the decider.

The game started with high intensity as for the opening fifteen both the teams ran really hard and kept attacking and created many chances. Saúl Ñíguez took a shot and forced a great save out of ter Stegen, Antoine Griezmann fired a shot which went over the bar and Marcos Llorente’s shot hit the woodwork.
From then on the Blaugrana men found it difficult to find spaces, Leo Messi missed a great chance to put his team forward from a brilliant pass by Jordi Alba, as the shot straight to Jan Oblak.

Yannick Carrasco scored a rare tap-in from 40 yards during the added minutes before half time after a horrible mistake from Ter Stegen as he tried to play sweeper keeper, and put his team forward.
The second half was rather slow as the Catalans failed to break the Atletico defense, whereas Atletic0 looked comfortable with the ball. To add to it, Gerard Pique had to leave the pitch with a very bad knee injury. Even the substitutions made no effect, as the final whistle sealed the score line to 1-0 for Atletico Madrid.
