Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns to international duty; England, Germany dominate in qualifiers

Stockholm: Zlatan Ibrahimovic made a winning return to international duty after five years as Sweden beat Georgia 1-0, thanks to Viktor Claesson in World Cup qualifiers. Robert Lewandowski scored an equaliser on 83 minutes as Poland earned a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Hungary.

Germany had a cake-walk against Iceland 3-0, with one goal each from Leon Goretzka, Kai Havertz and lkay Gundogan in Group J. Joachim Low who is going to step down after this year’s European Championship, was apparently pleased with his team’s performance.

Martin Braithwaite scored the winner to give Denmark a good start against Israel. England ran a rampage over San Marino scoring five past them and conceding none. James Ward-Prowse, Raheem Sterling, Ollie Watkins scored one goal each and a brace from Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
