Goa : With a disappointing campaign throughout, the two South-Indian giants Kerala Blasters FC and Chennaiyin FC match have no more value to add to the league this season. As both, the teams would play the match for pride at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim.

Kerala has sacked their coach Kibu Vicuna after the side was battered by Hyderabad FC, 0-4 in their last match and would be managed by Ishfaq Ahmed in their remaining two matches. The performance of the side was never up to the mark this season and for that they had to pay.

“It’s a difficult situation that we are in now and there is not much time to change many things. But there are things we would like to improve,” said Ishfaq in the pre-match press conference.

“The most important thing is that the boys are motivated. For me, it’s everything to play for, pride and self-respect. I think they are up for these two matches,” Ahmed added.

Chennaiyin had a poor season in front of goal and that resulted in them crashing out of the season and not being able to fight for the play-offs. They would be considering themselves unlucky to miss out the opportunities in the matches which could have handed them a better season.

“I am still proud of the team for many reasons. They showed character irrespective of the teams. Practically the team showed character but we lost two points against FC Goa and NorthEast,” said Chennaiyin coach Csba Laszlo in the pre-match press conference.
