Southampton: The equation and respect Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson share for each other over the years are well known to everyone. Kohli and Williamson have known each other since their U-19 World cup (2008) days. The same equation was witnessed on the final day of the World Test Championship final against after New Zealand beat India by 8 wickets.

A special moment from the final day at the Ageas Bowl following the match, where Virat Kohli was seen sharing a warm hug with Kane Williamson after New Zealand beat India in WTC Final is doing rounds on social media. As soon as the picture was posted by a fan of the special moment, the picture went viral on social media in no time.

While it’s natural for Indian fans to be disappointed after the defeat of Team India in WTC Final, however Indian fans were happy, and seen cheering on social media for New Zealand on their big win. New Zealand has been a part of two back-to-back finals of the World Cups in 2015 and 2019 where they couldn’t lift the trophy on both of the occasions. This was the Kiwis’ maiden world title ever since 2000 world cup knock out.

Like a graceful leader, Kohli also applauded New Zealand after the win saying, “They showed great consistency and heart to pull out a result in just over three days, sticking to their processes to put us under pressure. They deserved the win.”

Kohli surely have not had the best day with the bat. But his kind gesture towards NZ wicketkeeper-batsman BJ Watling, who played his final Test for the Kiwis in the WTC final, is winning hearts. Kohli, like a true ambassador of the sport, walked up to Watling and shook his hands congratulating him on his glorious Test career.
