Nagpur : Vidarbha defeated Kerala by first innings lead in Ranji Trophy 2024-25 Final to win their 3rd title, which they previously won in 2018, 2019.
In Vidarbha’s first innings, despite being reduced to 24-3 initially, Danish Malewar (153) ton along with Karun Nair (86) posted mammoth 379 runs.
From Kerala’s side, MD Nidheesh & Eden Apple bagged 3-fers each.
Kerala, despite heroic knocks of Sachin Baby (98) & Aditya Sarwate (79) managed 342 runs, falling 37 runs short of Vidarbha’s 1st innings lead, and almost lost the match.
Darshan Nalkande, Harah Dubey & Parth Rekhade from Vidarbha picked 3-fers each.
In 2nd innings, Vidarbha in form Batter Karun Nair (135) smashed his 4th ton in the season. Danish Malewar (73) & Darshan Nalkhande (51*) score vital runs as Vidarbha Batted out till last day and won as a result of first innings lead.
Kerala spinner Aditya Sarwate picked 4 wickets in losing cause.
Danish Malewar was adjourned man of the match while Harsh Dubey man of the series.
