UCL started with some unexpected results as Manchester United shock PSG and FC Barcelona and Juventus secure their first win

Paris : The first day of UEFA Champions League saw some unexpected results and some were pretty much what the fans around the world expected it to be like. Paris Saint Germain hosted Manchester United and much to the surprise, United were completely dominated the game and they won their first match of the UCL campaign away from home. The late winner from Marcus Rashford, brought home the victory for the Reds. The score line was 2-1 in favour of United. Bruno Fernandes being the first scorer from the spot and the only goal for PSG was an own goal by Anthony Martial.

FC Barcelona started started their UCL campaign on a high note, much needed for the team after their disastrous previous season. They hosted Ferencvárosi TC and won the game 5-1 even after being rendered 10 man on 68th minute when Gerard Pique saw a red card. Leo Messi opened the scoring from the spot followed by Ansu Fati, Philippe Coutinho, Pedri and Ousmane Dembele. The only goal of Ferencvarosi was scored by Ihor Kharatin from the spot.

Juventus on the other hand secured an away win even without their star player Cristiano Ronaldo. Cristiano who recently tested positive for corona virus was unavailable. But, Alvaro Morata scored a brace to secure their first win away from home in Kiev against Dynamo Kyiv.

The first match did not go as planned for the men in yellow and black as Borussia Dortmund lost 3-1 to Lazio away from home. Ciro Immobile opened the scoring for Lazio followed by an own goal by Marvin Hitz and the third by Akpa-Akpro. Erling Haaland scored the goal for Dortmund.

Zenit faced a defeat at home as Club Brugge won the match 2-1 against them.
