Madrid:  German midfielder Toni Kroos has praised his Real Madrid teammate and captain Sergio Ramos for his ability to lead from the front. He explained about Ramos being the best captain a player can have in his team.

Ramos joined the Los Blancos back in 2005 as a right-back before moving to centre of the defence and since then he made over 600 appearances for them winning the UEFA Champions League four times, La Liga five times and scoring over 90 goals in the process.

Hosting a podcast with his brother Felix Kroos, the German international said, “When Ramos has an opinion, he expresses it for the good of the team, without any reservations. And that was unlike anything I had ever seen before. So if we talk about captains, in my opinion, he is the best you can have.

“I’m more than happy to have Sergio as my captain. I learned a lot from him and he learned a lot from me, I have to admit. He is someone who implements everything incredibly well and he’s someone who is listened to in the club by everyone. Sergio leads by example.”

Kroos will start his seventh season for the club on Sunday after making a move from Bayern Munich back in 2014 and since then he has become an integral part of the midfield with Modric and Casemiro making 78 appearances across all competitions.
