Liverpool: When Mohamed Salah first came to England, he was a 21 year old boy with high potential, but lack of game time at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho. Even Jose felt that he was one of those potential youngsters who doesn’t fit for the Premier League. Salah went to Italy and came back to EPL with Liverpool back in the 2017-18 season and the rest is history.

The 28-year-old right-winger has won almost every major silverware in his three-year stint at the Merseyside. It happened for his sheer class and talent which he possessed on his return to the Premier League. He scored 32 goals in the 2017-18 season, on his return with Liverpool and claimed the Premier League ‘Golden Boot’ award and it carried on with 27 goals in 18/19 and 19 in 19-20.

The most important part of all his goals for Reds proved that he wasn’t a one-season wonder but a seasoned campaigner. He scored in the finals of the Champions League against Spurs in 2019 and helped Liverpool to win their sixth Champions League. Even he played a major role in their Premier League winning season of 2019/20. With 19 goals with 59 shots on target and with an average passing conversion rate of 77%. He even assisted 10 times for his teammates. He did all these in 33 matches.

Winning for the team and winning personal landmarks are always different. After he scored a hat-trick on Saturday against Leeds United, in the first match of the new season, he broke a 25-year-old record of former English forward, Teddy Sheringham.

Sheringham scored from 1992 to 1995 in the opening day of the season, on the other hand, Mo Salah scored from 2017 to 2020, thus equaling with English forward. This achievement of Salah will be remembered well in the future by the football pundits. Not everyone knows about this small rather important thing Salah has achieved on Saturday. He has made a habit of proving his haters wrong time and time again.

Just like the Liverpool fans, every football lover should bow down in front of the ‘Egyptian King’.
