‘The Bees’ are in Premier League after 74 years

London : Brentford made a comeback in Premier League first time since 1947, after they defeated Swansea 2-0 Championship play off final at the Wembley Stadium. After a heartbreak season last tear, where Fulham tripped a 2-1 win over them in the extra time in the finals, the Bees fulfilled their comeback this season.

Thomas Frank’s endured a difficult path to show his team the glory they have been waiting for 74 years. Dealing with financial problems, the path to victory was anything but plain for the Bees. Lifelong fan, Matthew Benham’s involvement with the club, brought around financial stability after he took full control of the club in 2012.

Benham is considered to be a key in the success of his club. The former professional gambler, is said to apply his shrewd  statistical analysis of data, this earned him millions while in gambling and its effect and his vision transformed the club into what it is today emerging from the shadows.

The squad had a steady start this season, with nothing stirring enough, with three defeats, three victories and one draw. Following a 3-2 loss to stroke in which their comeback was cut short as they made a recovery from going down 3-0 to finishing 3-2 after the final whistle, the team went for a 21 games unbeaten streak.

For the final, Emiliano Marcondes and Ivan Toney’s goals put Brentford in a comfortable position with rarely any threat from the opposition side. After nine playoff failures it is finally the time for Frank’s men to taste the top flight football yet again.

The over 5000 or so fans that travelled to see their team it was all joy and glory as they witnessed history being made. With this Brentford also became the 50th Premier League club.
