London : N’Golo Kante was an anchor when it came to winning the UEFA Champions League trophy for Chelsea. The Frenchman, earned all the appreciations as he played a major part in helping his team secure the title of European Champions.

His contributions have been colossal not only during the final when he won the Man of the Match award, but also during both the legs against Real Madrid in the semi-finals when he was rightfully awarded the man of the match award in both the cases.

Hailing from a very humble background, Kante lost his father at a very young age took up job as a rubbish picker and from thereon his journey has been awe inspiring. He is hailed as a player who rarely has a “hater”. His humble nature, a smile that always tugs at his lips has made him a fan favourite all over the world irrespective of the clubs they support.

Kante earned some major plaudits when he showcased another stellar performance against Manchester City in the finals, keeping Kevin De Bruyne from shining till he was subbed off after a nasty collision with Antonio Rudiger.

He was a major force as he covered the threats of Riyad Mahrez on a number of occasions by dispossessing him, and made some crucial challenges in the final third, whenever City were in counter attack. Chelsea went on to win the match by the only goal scored by Kai Havertz on 42 minutes.

The Frenchman’s nature has made him one of the most loved player during the time when social trolls have had an major impact on mostly all players. The world cup winner, shy and modest behaviour has made him on the most respected player. From his coyness to take pictures with the World Cup trophy in 2018 to refusing to kiss the UCL trophy unlike his teammates in 2021, fans have always admired his behaviour in addition to his attributes as a player.

Kante joined Leicester City in 2015, and played a crucial part as they won their maiden Premier League title. Hence forth he joined Chelsea and won another Premier League Trophy with them. Hence after Eric Cantona, he became the second outfield player who won the Premier League title consecutively.

Kante made his senior international debut with France in 2016 and also won the French Player of the year in 2017. Moving on he won the biggest prize up for grab, the World Cup with France in 2018. Chelsea were the Champions of Europa League in 2019, and now the Champions League. With the Euros, knocking at the door the fans are quite optimistic he might be a serious contender for the Ballon d’Or of France performs well enough in the tournament.
