Thailand dominance knock India out of AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualification Round

Thailand : India U-17 Girls faced 2nd consecutive defeat in AFC Asian Cup Qualification, against hosts Thailand 4-0, in Buriram City Stadium, Thailand, as a result , India got knocked out from the tournament.

The Thailand Girls dominated India right from the start, and opened their account with a penalty scored by captain Rinyaphat Moondong. They didn’t take much long to score the 2nd, as, after a couple of minutes Julaiporn Jaimulwong netted a free kick. In the 23rd minute, Thailand were awarded yet another penalty , and , Madison Casteen took no time to give Thailand a 3-0 lead.

In the 2nd half, both the team’s defence looked strong, but in the 71st minute, Casteen scored her brace, giving the hosts a 4-0 lead and ending Indian hopes. Though Indian defence didn’t allow any further goals for the rest of the Match, this scoreline ensured their exit from the qualification round.

India will now play Iran IR on September 23 and look forward to be more challenging.
