Barcelona: Luis Suarez visited the Barcelona training centre for one last time as he joined Atletico Madrid. The 33-year-old striker was almost forced to leave after the new manager Ronald Koeman deemed him surplus. A teary-eyed Suarez was spotted just outside Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper facilities. He probably came to the ground to say his final goodbye to his friend Lionel Messi and other teammates.

Suarez is the latest star to bid adieu to the Catalan club after the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Arturo Vidal, Nelson Semedo. The Uruguayan joins Atletico on a free transfer, although Barca could make up to €6 million on the move based on a number of performance-related variables. The deal is expected to be for two years, with Atletico stating the deal is subject to a medical examination.

Suarez is leaving the club as the third-highest goalscorer ever scoring a remarkable 197 times in 283 appearances in the Blaugrana colours. He was an integral part of the squad which won their historic second treble in the year 2015. The club is reportedly preparing a farewell press conference for Suarez on Thursday.
