Sunrisers Hyderabad crush Royal Challengers Bangalore by 4 runs in a nail biting chase

Abu Dhabi: Sunrisers Hyderabad sealed a narrow four-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in a nail biting contest at Sheikh Zayed Stadium  on Wednesday.

After being sent to bat first, SunRisers Hyderabad put up 141 runs for the loss of six wickets vs Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 52 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. Earlier, opener Jason Roy (44) shared a 58-ball 70 run stand with skipper Kane Williamson (31) to set the platform but SRH lost three early wickets for two runs in seven balls.

RCB faced an early blow in their chase when Bhuvneshwar Kumar  dismissed captain Virat Kohli in the first over. Harshal Patel finished as the standout bowler for RCB with figures of 3 for 33 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He got the crucial wickets of Kane Williamson (31), Wriddhiman Saha (10) and Holder (16) to lead the exclusive.

Apart from Harshal, Daniel Christian got two wickets while Yuzvendra Chahal and George Garton got one wicket each.  Chasing the total, Devdutt Padikkal (41) and Glenn Maxwell (40) scored bulk of the runs but RCB kept losing wickets and faltered in the end.
There was a partnership of 70 runs for the second wicket between Jason Roy (44) and Kane Williamson (31) but the other batters failed to convert it to give a momentum at the end.

The RCB have already qualified for the playoffs and are currently at the third spot in the points table with 18 points but would be looking to finish in the top two. SRH had failed to qualify for the playoffs. Kane Williamson-led side have won just two off their 12 games this season.
