Manchester: After missing the club’s pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia, the 37-year-old Striker reportedly wants to leave the club which he rejoined last year.

But, finally on friday via social media Ronaldo confirms he will play on Sunday against La Liga side Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford. Ronaldo commented on a post by a Ronaldo Fan Page about him leaving the club, he wrote : “Domingo o rei joga” which translates as “Sunday the king plays”.

Erik Ten Hag, the new United manager, was very much clear from the very first day, that “he is not for sale.”

“We are planning for Cristiano Ronaldo for the season and that’s it and I’m looking forward to working with him,” he said.
“I have read it, but what I say is Cristiano is not for sale, he is in our plans and we want success together.”

The former Real Madrid star finished as United’s top-scorer last season with 24 goals but the season was dissapointing for the club, as they finished sixth in the Premier League meaning they are out of the Champions League.

Manchester United will be starting their Premier League campaign this season at Old Trafford to Brighton on August 7.
