Gdansk : Tottenham loaned Juan Foyth, battled it out against Manchester United in spite of being left bloodied after a nasty clash with Paul Pogba in a tight match where Villarreal defeated Manchester United in penalties to clinch the Europa league trophy.

The young Argentine, showed unreal tenacity, he was left with blood pouring from his nose when he collided and received a blow from Pogba’s knee. The defender slid in and hit his face, just inside 10 minutes of the match.

Medics were rushed in the field, after minutes of treatment he stepped inside the field adorning his bandage and blood still dripping from his nose. He continued to show real tenacity as the game progressed, in spite of being heavily injured.

Foyth was in charge of the right side of the back four and put up a sturdy show. Marcus Rashford rarely got his chance, except one as the Argentine did a remarkable job of marking him. Speaking of him, Unai Emery hoped he stayed at Villarreal.

In the 2020/21 campaign, Foyth became a staple under Emery in the Spanish side where he played mostly as a right back or holding mid. He has made 28 appearances for the Yellow Submarines compared to his 16 appearances in Premier League for Spurs since his arrival back in 2017.
