Goa: Bengaluru FC were held 1-1 by a spirited NorthEast United FC in the Indian Super League at the Tilak Maidan in Goa on Tuesday (January 12). Luis Machado netted for the home side while Rahul Bheke scored one for the Blues.

Bengaluru started game dominating the possession from the first-whistle creating opportunities for them but unable to finish it off. However, it was the home side who against the run of play broke the deadlock as Federico Gallego squared it off finding Luis Machado in the box who slotted it home.

The defensive lapse of the Blues were there to see for all as defender Pratik Chaudhari could have done better in that situation. The best chance came for Bengaluru just before the first half whistle as Cleiton attempted a volley in the box which was saved by Highlanders’ Gurmeet Singh.

However, the Blues struggled to find the back of the net in the rest of game despite having much of the ball.

Their forwards weren’t finding the rythm while NorthEast created some good opportunities testing Blues goalkeeper Gurpreet a number of times but he was quite firm in those situations.
