Shreyas Iyer to lead as BCCI announces India A squad for Australia A multi-day series

Kolkata : BCCI has announced 15 men squad for India A that will clash against Australia A, that will be played across September and October.

Shreyas Iyer, who last played a Test game back in 2024 is set to lead the 15 men squad for the series.

First-choice Test players KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj were named in the squad as well, but only for the second match. Nitish Reddy who suffered knee injury during recently concluded England tour, is also back.

Bengal veteran Abhimanyu Easwaran has been added. Prasidh Krishna, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel (named vice captain), along with Easwaran, all part of the Anderson Tendulkar Trophy have been added.

Ayush Badoni, who scored a double-hundred against East Zone in the ongoing Duleep Trophy, has been rewarded with a call-up.

Khaleel Ahmed, Yash Thakur and Gurnoor Brar are among the seamers; Manav Suthar, Harsh Dubey and Tanush Kotian are the spin options. Among the notable absentees are Karun Nair, who is recovering from a finger injury, Shardul Thakur and Sarfaraz Khan.

The series between India A and Australia A will begin on September 16. The second unofficial Test will be played from September 23. Both matches will be played in Lucknow. Both teams will also face each other in three ODIs. However, the squad for these games is yet to be announced.
