Tokyo : The 2021 Tokyo Olympics is finally scheduled to take place from July 23. Even if the Coronavirus pandemic doesn’t obstruct the Olympics from happening next year, the scorching summer heat in the Japanese capital Tokyo could make the Game a ‘nightmare’, advisor Makoto Yokohari told to the organising committee.
A professor of environment and urban planning at the University of Tokyo, Yokohari, went through some data going back to the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles where the Games took place, Tokyo had the highest average temperature and shower of any host city.
The Olympic Games #Tokyo2020 will be held from 23 July until 8 August 2021.

Temperature in July of the current year, when the Olympics were about to start before the pandemic forced to get postponed were significantly less hotter than the five – year average for the month of 30.4 degrees Celsius.
“When it comes to heat stress or heat stroke, the problem is not only the temperature but also the humidity as well. When you can combine these two…. Tokyo is the worst in the history. The temperature wasn’t that high so if we could have this kind of weather next year, maybe it will be okay. But if the weather turns out like right now, or like last year, then it is going to be a nightmare ” he added.
