Despite retiring from international cricket back in 2013, Tendulkar still remains the biggest cricketing icon in the country and one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He has several records to his name. However, one of the 47-year-old’s milestones was recently surpassed by the current India captain Virat Kohli during the final ODI against Australia.

Kohli crossed the 12000-run mark in the ODIs on Wednesday (December 2). The 32-year-old completed the feat in his 241st innings (251st ODI) surpassing Tendulkar. Overall, Kohli is the sixth player on the list, only after Australia’s Ricky Ponting, Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara, Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya, and Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene.
