Cape Town : South Africa defeated Pakistan by 10 wickets at Newlands, Cape Town, and whitewashed them 2-0, in a high scoring encounter, in 2nd Test.
Batting first in 1st innings, South Africa saw youngster Ryan Rickelton smash 259 (342), which included 3 sixes and 29 boundaries.
He was accompanied by tons of skipper Temba Bavuma (106) & Kyle Verreynne (100). Protean innings was finished perfectly with help of aggressive knocks of Marco Jansen (62) and Keshav Maharaj (40). South Africa ended their score on mammoth 615 runs.
Pakistan, Batting in their 1st innings, were bundled for 194, despite good knocks of Babar Azam (58) & Md Rizwan (46). Kagiso Rabada’s 3-fer and Keshav Maharaj, Kwena Maphaka’s 2-fers bundled Pakistan on that score.
South Africa imposed Follow-on on Pakistan. However, they responded brilliantly.
Skipper Shan Masood smashed 145 (251), along with brilliant knock of Babar Azam (81).
Md Rizwan (41), Salman Agha (48), and Aamer Jamal (34) added more valuable knocks, as Pakistan posted 478 runs, taking just 58 runs lead after showing great fightback.
South Africa chased down the total in just 6.1 overs with David Bedingham (47*) & Aiden Markram (14*) playing aggressive Cricket.
Rickelton was adjourned Man of the Match & Marco Jansen Man of the series.
