Rehenesh TP stays at Jamshedpur FC for three more years

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur FC on Monday announced the stay of goalkeeper Rehenesh TP till May 2024. The 28-year-old custodian, who joined Jamshedpur before the start of last season will continue for another three more years in the Indian Super League.

“I had a fantastic season with Jamshedpur FC and I had amazing support from the gaffer, the goalkeeping coach Ezequiel as well as the entire squad,” Rehenesh said after his contract renewal.

The Kerela-based goalkeeper made his debut with ONGC in I-league and since then has played for Rangdajied United, Shillong Lajong, NorthEast United, East Bengal, Kerela Blasters before moving to the Steel City in 2020.

He added, “I haven’t been able to meet the fans personally, but the love they show for me and the club drives me to perform better every match and win for them. I am glad to continue here and I hope I can help to bring glory and trophies to the club in my time here.”

Rehenesh, who was in top form in ISL last season, registered 54 saves including nine clean sheets in just 19 matches, has also gathered praise from coach Owen Coyle. “There is no doubt Rehenesh is one of the best keepers in the country at the moment,” Coyle said.

“He was outstanding between the sticks, and I expect him to take the same form into next season as well to help us to the play-offs. He will have an important role to play for us,” the head coach added. Rehenesh was also selected as the Fans’ Player of the Season.
