Kolkata: The iconic Eden Gardens swapped the intensity of cricketing action for the tranquility of mindfulness today, as the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) celebrated International Yoga Day with immense enthusiasm.
Led and guided by CAB President, Mr. Sourav Ganguly, the event united the Bengal cricketing fraternity in a powerful display of holistic wellness.
The focused, 30-minute crisp yoga session seamlessly blended the discipline of competitive sports with the restorative power of ancient practice. The morning was marked by widespread participation across all tiers of the association, emphasizing the growing importance of mental and physical conditioning in modern cricket.
CAB Vice President Mr. Nitish Ranjan Dutta and numerous CAB committee chairpersons actively participated. Former international cricketer and current Head Coach of the Senior Men’s Bengal Team, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, was present to champion the initiative alongside players from various age-group teams.
CAB members, administrative staff, and athletes stood shoulder-to-shoulder on the mat, demonstrating unity and a shared commitment to well-being.
