Bulawayo : India U19 defeated Bangladesh U19 by 18 runs (DLS) at Bulawayo in ICC U19 WC 2026 in a rain curtailed encounter.
India Batting first lost skipper Ayush Mhatre and Vedant Trivedi to Al Fahad for 12 runs, Vihaan Malhotra also departed after some fight.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi (71) and Abhiyaan Kundu (80) notched 62 runs partnership to release the pressure. Even after losing wickets later in the innings, Kundu held his nerves , also putting up 54 runs stand with Kanishk Chouhan (28) to end the innings with 238 (48.4).
Bangladesh chasing 239 in 49 overs (due to rain) lost first wicket of Zawad Abrar (5) for 6 runs, however, captain Azizul Hakim (51) and Rifat Beg (37) kept going. Another stint of rain curtailed the game to 29 overs with target of 165 runs for Bangladesh. They Batted well till 106-2.
However, after that, Bangladesh completely began collapsing, and got bundled out from 106-2 to 146 runs.
Despite desperate attempts from Hakim and Rizan, Vihaan (4/14) and Khilan Patel (2/35) took regular wickets to gift India a 18 runs win from losing stage.
