Kolkata: Dutchman Max Verstappen entered the Formula 1 circuit back in 2015 as a 17-year-old rookie and since then he showed the tremendous potential of becoming a World Champion down the line. He is the youngest rider ever to compete in an F1 Grand Prix. Former F1 driver Alexander Wurz who raced for the Williams, as well as the McLaren back in the early 2000s, shared his views on Max.

Wurz has faith in Max’s ‘healthy realism’ and thinks that ‘pessimism’ is not a big issue for the young Red Bull Racing driver. Verstappen looked in utter disgust after his race in the Tuscan Grand Prix as his hopes for the title looked over of this season with 80 points behind the leader.

“A miracle must happen for him to catapult himself back into the fight for the title. But he is a healthy realist. Pessimism is not a mental problem for him. He always gives everything and for me is one of the best racing drivers we have ever seen.” Wurz also added about his maturity despite his age and the capability to beat Lewis Hamilton & Michael Schumacher.

Verstappen is still the only driver this season to beat both the Mercedes driver Hamilton and Bottas which he did at the 70th Anniversary Grand Prix. Being almost 23, He still has a season to surpass Sebastian Vettel’s record for the youngest world champion.
