Wolverhampton : Manchester City start their Premier League campaign with a win over Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C.. In an away fixature Pep Guardiola’s side held off Wolves in an 3-1 win over them.

Phil Foden, who was sent off from England’s National duty, owing to some “disgraceful” act shone for Manchester City. Kevin de Bruyne, also scored from the spot during first half and put their team on a two goal lead against the host.

Kevin de Bruyne, completely owned his No.10 role and City were able to win the match in-spite of not having seven senior players in their squad. He opened the scoring after earning an penalty on being fouled by Romain Saiss and converting it on 28 minutes.

Foden’s goal on 32 minutes was a spectacular strike. He firmly scored off a run he took from Raheem Sterling’s cutback. His attempt to score a brace was denied as his shot went slightly wide off the far post.

The second half was rather sluggish from the men in blue, as they conceded one goal. Raul Jimenez’s 78th minute header, was also the first shot on target of the opponent since the start of the game. This little hope, still couldn’t help Nuno Espirito Santo’s men to make the comeback like previous term, when they won the match after trailing by 2-0. However, Gabriel Jesus’ injury time goal on 90+5′ minutes sealed the day for City.
